Zoox has embarked on a highly-ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. Zoox’s Hardware-in-the-Loop team integrates our self-driving software with our dedicated hardware, making sure that our sensors, compute, and software work seamlessly together. Our Software HIL team is critical to ensuring that the software running on all of our vehicles functions correctly and safely. 

To achieve effective offline testing of our driving platform, our virtual fleet must mirror our physical fleet of vehicles as closely as possible. The responsibility of the Test Platform Development role in our team is to develop high fidelity testing platforms by incorporating all of the critical components of our vehicle’s hardware and software, and to work cross-functionally with other teams at Zoox to increase the completeness of our integration testbeds. This will require a high-level understanding of the overall system design and component interaction to help guide requirements and methodology for future functional and safety sign-off while providing support to teams using these new platforms.

Qualifications

  • Skilled in Python or C++ and experience in large code bases
  • Familiarity with hardware considerations including power, thermal, and signal integrity
  • Experience with integration testing and test plan design
  • Ability to understand complex hardware/software systems and interactions
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve project goals and contribute to a positive problem-solving environment

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in both C++ and Python
  • Experience with safety-critical systems
  • Linux operating system fundamentals, system architecture knowledge, devices
